Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information My Unit Converters collects, how third-party services — including Google AdMob — are used within the app, and the choices you have.

Effective date: August 14, 2026 · Applies to My Unit Converters for iOS, published by MarvinSoft.

01 — Overview

The short version

My Unit Converters is built to work without an account, a sign-in, or a server backend for everyday use. We (MarvinSoft) do not collect, store, or have access to any personal information you enter into the app — your unit list, custom units, and settings stay on your device. The app displays banner ads served by Google AdMob to help keep it free, and Google AdMob may collect and process limited device and advertising data as described below. The app also makes a network request to a public exchange-rate provider to refresh currency data, which does not involve any personal information.

02 — Data We Collect

What MarvinSoft collects directly

Nothing that identifies you. Here's exactly what lives where.

Information you provide

My Unit Converters does not ask you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information such as your name, email address, or location. Any custom units, renamed or reordered units, hidden units, and display preferences (decimal places, separators, theme) you set up are stored only in the app's local storage on your device.

Information collected automatically

MarvinSoft does not operate any analytics, crash-reporting, or tracking service inside My Unit Converters, and the app does not request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission because it does not track you across other companies' apps or websites for its own purposes. The only automatic network activity the app itself performs is a daily request to a public currency exchange-rate provider to refresh conversion rates; that request does not include any information that identifies you or your device.

Data category Collected by MarvinSoft? Where it lives
Account / profile info Not collected — no account exists
Custom units & settings Not transmitted On-device only (Documents folder)
Precise or approximate location Not collected by the app
Usage / analytics data Not collected by the app
Advertising data Collected by Google AdMob, not MarvinSoft See "Advertising & Google AdMob" below
03 — Advertising

Advertising & Google AdMob

My Unit Converters shows a small banner ad, served through Google's AdMob SDK.

My Unit Converters uses Google AdMob to display a banner advertisement within the app. AdMob is operated by Google and, to serve and measure ads, its SDK can collect and process information such as:

  • Device identifiers and general device information (e.g. device model, operating system version)
  • IP address, which may be used to derive an approximate, coarse location
  • App usage and ad interaction data (e.g. ad impressions, clicks, and viewability)

This data is collected and processed by Google, not by MarvinSoft — we do not receive or store any of it ourselves. My Unit Converters includes Apple's SKAdNetwork identifier to support privacy-preserving install attribution, and the app does not request App Tracking Transparency permission, so it does not access your device's advertising identifier for cross-app tracking on its own behalf.

You can control ad personalization at the operating system level in Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising (or, on older iOS versions, Settings → Privacy → Advertising) on your device, and manage other apps' tracking requests in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. For details on how Google collects and uses data from apps that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and Google's own Privacy Policy.

Currency exchange rate data

To keep currency conversions current, the app periodically requests exchange-rate data from a public rate provider (floatrates.com). This is a one-way, anonymous data fetch: the app downloads published rates and does not send any personal or device-identifying information as part of that request.

04 — Storage & Your Rights

Where data lives, and what you can do

Data storage & security

All app data — your unit lists, custom units, and preferences — is stored locally on your device using standard iOS app storage. It is never transmitted to MarvinSoft's servers, because MarvinSoft does not operate a backend server for this app. If you delete My Unit Converters from your device, this locally stored data is removed along with it.

Children's privacy

My Unit Converters is a general-audience utility app and is not directed at children under 13. MarvinSoft does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at the address below so we can address it.

Your rights and choices

Because MarvinSoft does not collect or store personal information from My Unit Converters, there is generally no MarvinSoft-held personal data to access, correct, or delete. Depending on your location, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA regarding data collected by third-party services like Google AdMob; those requests are best directed to Google using the resources linked above. You're always free to contact us with any privacy question and we'll do our best to help.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the app or in applicable law. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
